Academics
Academic Affairs is responsible for the overall coordination of the educational program of the College.
Academic Affairs is comprised of three degree-granting divisions: Arts and Sciences, Business and
Technology, and Education. A fourth division, General Education and Special Studies (GESS), although
not a degree-granting unit, coordinates the general core liberal arts education requirements and provides
placement testing, initial advisement and support for freshmen and transfer students. Placement testing is
done in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Assessment. GESS also
coordinates the developmental education services of the College.
