Ronald Doucet, Head Coach


Ronald Doucet, a native from New Orleans, La has been coaching for over 10 years. He enters his second stint with the Wildcat athletics family as the head coach for Jr. Varsity Men's Basketball in August 2010. Prior to being named the head coach, he served as the assistant coach for the program and Residence Life Manager.

In 1996, Doucet began his coaching career at his alma mater, Joseph S. Clark High School, where he led his team to several playoff appearances. Before moving to Marshall, Coach Doucet worked at John McDonogh High School from 2006-2009. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, he was one of the many educators who reached out to help preserve what the great city had left to offer. He served in several capacities such as head coach, disciplinarian, and the administrative liaison for the Orleans Parish School District.

Coach Doucet has a passion for life and athletics. This gave him the will power to encourage young men to continue their education and pursue their dreams in athletics. In 2006, Coach Doucet recruited enough players to compete during the basketball season and to finish with a 22-7 record. His philosophy of life is that God is in control. Doucet earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Welfare from Dillard University in 1994.

He made the Blue Devils' history books when he was named the NAIA Freshman of the Year in 1989. He is the father of one son.
